Name: Megamind
Age: 33
Canon: Megamind
Canon Point: Just after Metro Man’s defeat AU Information:
This particular Megamind is a genderbent female version of the canonical Megamind, with several differences mostly pertaining to her upbringing and just how she, as a female, views the world as opposed to her male counterpart. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Roxanne is also a dude, Ritchard Ritchi!)
Personality:
Megamind presents herself to be the kind of chick that makes you just want to sock her in the face – arrogant, smug, cocky, and preeeetty much a pain in the ass.
In truth, Megamind is complicated - her personality is so scattered due to her misguided and often jaded upbringing, that even she hasn't really nailed it down yet. Her main attributes are her incredible intelligence and sarcasm with a penchant for nefarious plans, yet at the same time she is a bit naive (whether this is purposeful or not is indeterminable - she continues to mispronounce despite being corrected, yet shows she is fully capable of catching herself and fixing it while around Richard, as shown in the movie). She's smart enough to build things like a fully functioning spider bot, an enormous battlesuit, create a gun that can dehydrate, decompress, debilitate, etc yet at the same time she cannot seem to pronounce ‘Metro City’ or ‘school’ correctly.
She’s full of flashy presentations and showmanship – two things which are extremely important to her, though she differs from her canon counter part in her preference for finery, glitter, sparkle, and glam. She’s classy – much classier than her male version in that she tends to be much calmer on camera, preferring to sit in her chair and smirk at Metrocity and its pathetic human population as opposed to leering and openly mocking the populace. More reserved and refined, she has a champagne taste and surrounds herself with finery – only the best for Megamind, the woman who grew up in a prison with nothing but an orange jumpsuit and a fish in a glass dome.
As the city’s self-proclaimed super villain, she has invested all of herself into creating a persona in order to gain this classification and garner the attention of both media and of one Richard Ritchi. She’s obsessed over and invested so much into her ‘evil’ image that she has completely cut herself off from anyone other than the immediate players in her game, aside from Minion – her one true friend and companion. She will, however, never outright admit to her deep rooted affection for the fish to anyone other than Minion himself. This too, is a crucial difference between canonical Megamind and femme!Mind – her affections towards her minion are more vocalized, even if it is only to Minion himself. There is not nearly so much separation of ‘master’ and ‘servant’ as there is in the movie itself.
Despite the fact that Megamind has never actually hurt anyone, the general human population appears to be genuinely frightened of her – including the City’s police force – and there is only one exception to this: Richard Ritchi. Megamind is so used to being hated and despised that this fear of her, this hatred from an entire City isn’t something that deters her or stops her in her attempts to take over. Does it bother her? Of course it does – but you will never hear that confession. Despite her showy, glittery costumes, flashy capes and razzle dazzle presentations that are accompanied by some seriously awesome alternative rock music (yet another difference – this Megamind prefers updated rock as opposed to old school AC/DC – though on occasion she has been known to be caught whistling Sweet Child of Mine), Megamind is still that small seven year old little girl screaming for attention and acceptance.
Despite all her shortcomings and her lot in life, Megamind is incredibly strong willed and determined - she never gives up, even when it is painfully obvious that she has absolutely no chance of winning. She fully believes that her destiny is to be Metro Man’s rival until the day she dies in a blaze of glory so fantastic that Metro City never forgets her name. Despite her protests to the contrary, she never truly expects to win or take over Metro City - that does not, however, keep her from trying. She consistently loses her battles, but she refuses to stop fighting and trying, no matter how many times she's thwarted and tossed into prison. She does her best to learn from her mistakes, and she keeps trucking.
An incredibly narcissistic being, Megamind is wholly infatuated with herself and her perfected 'supervillain' image. Ever since that fateful day as a seven year old girl turning an entire schoolhouse blue, her has worked hard to create that image for herself - devastatingly beautiful, superior despite her failures, incredibly brilliant, and evil. She’s more manipulative than her male version, and every so often will play up the feminine card in order to get the jump on Metro Man, or any other Doom Syndicate villain she might be dealing with at the time. Far sassier than her male self, Megamind is more apt to react instead of flailing about uselessly, and has actually avoided more prison time than canon!Megamind. There is always a backup escape plan, and while she doesn’t always manage to get away, she’s far more wily and slippery than movie!mind and evades Wayne more often than not.
Despite the previous statements to Megamind’s image, her ‘evilness’, and her determination to be portrayed as such, she really just...isn't. She’s a self absorbed, vain woman that can come off as a pretentious bitch, but she’s not evil, and deep down Megamind realizes that. She has standards and class, and while consistently called a villain by not just the population but also herself (and the Warden, and Richard, and Wayne…), she’s evil only in that her circumstances pushed her to be - Deep down there is a lot of pain and bitterness associated with her childhood and consistent punishments despite her best efforts to prove herself as fabulous as the young Wayne Scott. This all combined makes for a very complicated, very misunderstood woman – and a very lonely and slightly mentally unbalanced one. She tends to have mood swings that reflect this, sometimes ranting at Minion when a minute detail is wrong yet other times she portrays herself as cool, distant, highly educated and well spoken, and aloof. This secondary ‘personality’ can be described as a defense mechanism as well – when she pushes herself away, she is less likely to be emotionally hurt than if she allows herself to actually care about the people she deals with on a day to day basis – even if deep down, her heart is not so black as she would like to think.
She's a destructive type of person, even without meaning to be - the inventions she creates are, generally speaking, weapons of mass destruction, and as such, are incredibly dangerous. Megamind is really capable of so much more than most people give her credit for, though she receives a lot of recognition for her genius – far more than movie!Megs. Despite the fact that she flaunts her intelligence, the patents she holds for a lot of the worlds technological advancements are under an anonymous name, and any deposits she receives as a result are made into Swiss bank accounts, business being conducted only by a tall blond woman with chocolate eyes wearing a Gucci ‘watch’ – Minion.
Since she hides this little tidbit about herself – that android phone you’re using? Her processor! -- the citizens still tend to underestimate her and her brilliance, and do not take into account that the woman who can build a death ray (let alone get it into ORBIT) and blow up an abandoned building here and there has not completely leveled their city yet. Despite wanting to lord over the city like a dictator, Megamind regards the general population as soft headed morons who don't understand sheer brilliance when they see it.
Despite having 88 life sentences, it's safe to assume that, up until the 'death' of Metro Man, Megamind hasn't actually killed anyone. Regardless of threatening to take over the city, kidnapping, robbery, destruction of public property, Megamind views mass murdering and senseless death as in very bad form. Even villains have standards, you see - and Megamind prides herself on having that as well as class.
Background:
Metro City is a lovely jewel situated somewhere in Michigan, presumably – based on the satellite view of the death ray hitting somewhere NEAR Lake Michigan, along with the ginormous body of water that borders the city. It’s a large city akin to something like New York or San Francisco with Skyscrapers and underground tunnels ala the Lincoln Tunnel, though that is where the similarities end.
Megamind is the city’s resident self proclaimed supervillain. She has terrorized the city countless times with her endeavors and devious plots – for years she’s been Metro Man's arch-nemesis, attempting to take over the city and rule as the Evil Empress.
Megamind was eight days old (it's not documented anywhere just how long they were in space, the fandom assumes her birthday is December 17th and I will stick with this) when she crash landed on Earth sometime around Christmas. As opposed to landing into a life of luxury like her heroic nemesis Wayne, she found himself inside of Metro City's prison, being raised by its resident inmates and the Warden looming down as a strange type of father figure. From the beginning she was instructed with a rather…warped view of right and wrong and was given a kind of tough love that only a child raised by inmates could experience. Despite these setbacks, she desperately wanted to fit in, and at age seven she was sent to a small school near the jail in order to gain an education.
It’s here that her ‘turn to evil’ starts – she was bullied, picked on, pushed around, and at times blatantly ignored. Her classmates and teacher displayed an intense dislike and distrust from day one, and the young girl was never properly given a chance to really fit in. After continually being put into time out by fellow schoolmate Wayne Scott, Megamind eventually decided that since being bad was the only thing she was really good at, that was what she was meant to be. Minion went along with her gracefully, and assisted his boss in whatever way he possibly could.
Taking the name Megamind, she escaped from prison and threw herself into the rivalry with a frenzied passion. It was a game, and she loved it. Over the course of time, her schemes and plots grew more detailed, each battle more and more elaborate. Richard Ritchi was crucial to her, and was almost always a key player in their twisted little game. The reporter was a chess piece, a pawn and a plot device that was consistently used to lure out Wayne Scott who was now Metro Man. Ritchard’s biting words and sarcastic, stinging barbs never stopped Megamind from attempting to accomplish her goal, and while the reporter was threatened with various instruments of torture, weapons of mass destruction, death rays, laser beams, sharks, jellyfish, eels – Megamind never let Richard get hurt.
Metro Man, Richard, and Minion are the most important key players in her game and without any one of them Megamind is little lost. She can regroup and make do (even going so far as to create a new ‘hero’ in Titan), but without them specifically it’s really not the same. She relies heavily on the three and when she destroys Metro Man, she begins to realize just how much losing any one of them really means.
Abilities: Megamind is incredibly brilliant - her massive brain power gives her an intellect that far surpasses normal human beings, though it does seem she occasionally lacks ah...common sense. She's extremely book smart and can remember pointless dates and facts and nearly every conversation she's ever had, along with the end of his planet and the following journey to earth. She soaks up information like a sponge. She has a photographic and perfect memory, and can recall dates, times, and experiences and pull up the memory and experience it as if she were there. As such, she does not like thinking/talking about her time as a young girl, or her trip to earth.
Also, unlike Canon!Megamind, Femme!Mind is telekinetic.
Telekinesis is being able to move matter based objects with ones own mind - visible objects that have obvious solidarity to them, life forms, etc. Those with telekinesis are able to move, spin, levitate, fly, bend or break said objects solely by using the power of their minds. Because Megamind is so brainpower oriented, this is an ability I thought made quite a bit of sense.
In a nutshell, it is the ultimate mind-over-matter ability.
She is able to use it on herself, and can carry up to one passenger with little difficulty. The limitations to this (and also on the power as a whole) would be not being able to carry over approximately five hundred pounds total (herself/equipment included). Anything over that, she'll be able to wiggle an item, but not pick it up and throw it at someone.
Inventory: A disguise watch, and her De-hydration gun – along with the clothes she’s wearing.
Note: If possible, these limiters are okay!

YOU THERE. I demand answers! Where am I? What have — Hey! Hey! Get back here!
[instead of answering, the person just – runs. And doesn’t look back. While Megamind looks pleased at the reaction, she’s pissy because hi, no answers.
So, she turns to the comm.]
Well then. I don’t suppose anyone of you have anything useful to tell me?

The bazaar was much like its similar sounding counterpart -- bizarre. Megamind had seen some things in her day, but this was one of those oddities that stuck out a little. Chocolate stalls, coffee shops – little…tea houses – Megamind felt a little out of sorts here, even if she was currently disguised as a short brunette sporting a pair of prescription glasses. She wasn’t used to being part of the crowd. It was a cacophony of chaos -- too many people gathering in once place, pushing and shoving and she was reminded of why, on principle, she likened human beings to insects. They crawled over one another, moved in masses, and destroyed nearly everything they touched. This was confirmation she didn’t need that Megamind most certainly did not like being in a crowd.
No, she was used to manipulating it – terrorizing it. Showing it who was boss.
That’s what she’s done nearly her whole life -- villainize, terrorize, instill fear into the hearts of men! Make an entire city incredibly nervous. That in itself could be considered an accomplishment. Her name was known – she was infamous and famous all at once; she had haters and even a scant few worshippers, and Megamind relished it, basked in her own personal glory and fame even if she didn’t always receive the most flattering of depictions in the news. That damned reporter made certain of that.
Still – she was used to schemes and plots and Blowing Stuff Up. Not mingling in a crow, blending – trying to just get a damn piece of chocolate with out someone elbowing her in the ribs. People usually fled in fear!
Not…rolled their eyes and kept moving. But Megamind didn’t have the tech yet – the resources in which she could really launch a full frontal assault on these fools that dared to keep her imprisoned here.
It was damned problematic, if only because of that severe lack of funds -- but most important of all? There was a severe lack of Minion.
That’s what made all of this wretchedly difficult -- while she was the brains behind it all, he was her common sense. He was her gentle conscience, guiding her away from terrible decisions that weren’t just bad in the name of bad – but just plain bad and potentially even dangerous either to herself or Miss Ritchi. And Minion wasn’t here. He wasn’t here to counter her whimsy, her fantastical plans with his level headedness and sensibility.
She missed him.
Despite being an outcast all of her life, despite being so physically different, and hell – despite disguising herself as one of these fools if just to savor some candy – Megamind had never felt so alienated in her entire life as she did right now, walking alone in a crowded bazaar full of people.
